Meet Andy, an exceptional Lowe’s employee in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, whose kindness and creativity went above and beyond for a rescue dog named Baxter.
A couple of weeks ago, Baxter’s owners, Amy Jo Martin and a friend, visited Lowe’s to find hardware to attach an anti-tip rear wheel to Baxter’s wheelchair. They were searching for someone who could think outside the box and that’s when they met Andy.
Andy spent over an hour sitting on the floor with them in the hardware department, brainstorming solutions and helping them choose the right parts. With Andy’s guidance, they left with a solid plan and only $5 out of pocket.
After the project was completed, they returned to Lowe’s to show Andy the finished anti-tip wheel. Andy inspected the device, gave his seal of approval, and even offered to dogsit Baxter if needed. Touched by their gratitude, Andy’s reaction warmed everyone’s hearts.
The Lowe’s manager encouraged Amy to share the story on social media so corporate could also recognize Andy’s extraordinary customer service, kindness, and dedication.
This story reminds us that a little creativity and compassion can make a big difference, especially for rescue pets and their families. Andy’s generosity left a lasting impact on Baxter’s owners and the rescue community alike.
