Authorities have confirmed that 55-year-old American passenger Ann Evans, who went missing after failing to return to the Holland America ship MS Rotterdam on November 20, has been found alive.
Evans had left the ship in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten for an island excursion, but disappeared after getting off the tour bus in Marigot, located on the French side of the island. Her absence triggered a multi-day search involving both Dutch and French law enforcement teams.
Investigators later discovered that a woman matching her description had checked into a hotel using her passport, leading to her safe location.
So far, officials have not released details about Evans’ condition or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, citing privacy regulations.
Authorities thanked the public and local agencies for their assistance and continue to encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
