Jeremy Hansen to Become First Canadian on a Crewed Lunar Mission

NASA’s Artemis II mission, set for early 2026, will orbit the Moon with four astronauts, including Jeremy Hansen, the first Canadian on a crewed lunar flight.

Four astronauts are preparing to make history with #ArtemisII, NASA’s first crewed mission around the Moon in over 50 years. Scheduled for liftoff in early 2026, this mission marks a major milestone in humanity’s return to lunar exploration.

Among the crew is Jeremy Hansen, a Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut who will become the first Canadian to participate in a crewed lunar mission. As a mission specialist, Hansen will manage critical systems, support scientific experiments, and assist in guiding the crew toward their objectives.

Artemis II is a stepping stone for NASA’s broader goal of returning humans to the lunar surface and laying the foundation for future deep-space exploration, including Mars. The world eagerly awaits this historic journey that represents international collaboration and a new era of space exploration.
